She and Neighbor Girl were treated to face masks and manicures.

Happy Father's Day!

My daddy and me - 1968

On this occasion of Father's Day, I want to proclaim how incredibly blessed I have been with the main men in my life--my dad and my husband. Praise be to the Lord for being so, so kind to me by giving me these true loving men! This song always brings tears to my eyes--because it is just SO TRUE for me. Press PLAY under the lyrics to listen.

Jesus, Daddy, and You
(original lyrics by Rebecca Lynn Howard)

In the back of my mind there's a sweet memory
Of an old front porch swing and daddy singing to me
I can still feel the touch of his loving hands
In my eyes he was the one perfect man
The first of three men I gave my heart to: Jesus, Daddy and you.

Come Sunday morning I knew where I'd be
Sitting beside Mama with Daddy preaching to me
Where I put my life in two nail scarred hands
The day that I fell for one more perfect man
The men I have loved had been so true: Jesus, Daddy, and you.

There are three kinds of love that everyone needs
I knew that something was missing for me

Then you came along and completed my life
I saw Jesus and Daddy in your loving eyes
I looked up when you put the ring on my hand
And I thanked God for one more perfect man
Three men in my life whose love has been true: Jesus, Daddy and you.
Three men in my life I gave my heart to: Jesus, Daddy and you.

And the award goes to . . .

I was recently surprised to be blessed with the You Make My Day Blog Award. The honor came from my dear friend Camille over at There Is A Season. Thank you so much, Camille! You sure made my day!

And now I would like to keep the blessings going by presenting the same award to Michael over at Great Adventure II. I just have to say that ever since I've been keeping up with blogs, this one is always at the top of my list. I would hate to go more than a few days without "visiting" the Thomases. To me they represent the epitome of good, clean fun and close family life and dear church fellowship and hope for the future. Congratulations for having a life and a blog that truly spreads joy and inspiration!

Music Video of the Month

I've been featuring a new music video each month over near the bottom of the sidebar--in case you haven't noticed. Here is this month's video. I ran across it a few months ago, and find it very touching. It's an Andrew Peterson song that somebody matched up with clips from what they described as "a TNT movie on the life of Abraham." Let me know if you recognize the movie or know its title.
