Well, here we are in September. O, how the time flies! It’s back-to-school time and time for a special birthday.
To start off, let me show you the dear boy who just had his 9th birthday.
This son is a real delight. He’s smart, funny, and so cute—as you can easily see. But most of all, he has a pure heart. What a blessing it is to hear his bedtime prayer; each and every night he prays that he and all his brothers and sisters will grow up to be godly men and women. Amen.
Now how about some pictures of our first day of school?
This 3-year-old is enthusiastic about school.
Boy Three with his new glasses.
Boy Two is doing well in fourth grade.
Girl One back to practicing piano.
Boy One hard at work. Not sure why, but standing up at the kitchen counter is his favorite venue for school work.
Unfortunately, the baby gets into trouble like this ALL DAY LONG! Please pray for his safety, as he is obsessed with climbing.
And now we have a series of completely random pictures, the one common element being that they were all taken since the last blog post.
My wonderful husband built me these shelves so I have somewhere nice to put the things I’ve canned.
During our yearly visit to the Irish Festival.
Boy One babysits the alpacas next door.
Grandma N shows how to decorate my birthday cake.
Girl Two and the sunflower Grandpa bought for her. (He bought a whole pack of seeds, but only this one survived the rabbits.)
Boy Three finally loses his first tooth.
The potato harvest is enjoyed by all, even the youngest among us.
Girl Two helping to make lunch.
Wearing the “Ancient Sumerian” necklaces they made in school.
And finally, we leave you with two videos—our oldest and our youngest being musical.
Well, that’s all. Thanks for visiting!

Thanks for the update, Susan. Love all the pictures! Saw some familiar math pages in there...
