Grand Multipara

Well, here's a glimpse of me, for our out-of-town friends and family. Do you think I'm starting to show yet?

All pregnant ladies know that when they're out and about, at a store or whatever, they get the question: When are you due? or How much longer do you have?

I get two predictable reactions when I tell them I'm not due until July. One is, "Is it twins?" And the other is a look of confusion where the person tips their head sideways and appears to be struggling with some internal math calculations.

As for my own reaction every time I pass my reflection--well, let's just say that I'm glad I have a good sense of humor.

You look so beautiful! I'm glad I can see you online even if I can't hug you right now. When I look at your big red belly, I think, "There's my grandson. I wonder what kind of special person he'll turn out to be." Each of your boys is so unique and precious. I miss them. I will enjoy spending time with them (and the girls too!) this summer.

Here's something interesting. I just read Psalm 139:13 in the NIV. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb."

I have an old King James that was my mother's, and here's what this translation says: "For thou hast possessed my reins; thou hast covered me in my mother's womb."

And now, I'm listening to "You are my hiding place," which is one of my favorite songs, on your blog. God is our hiding place, and He has chosen to use you as a hiding place right now for your little one just as He used me to hide you as you were being formed.

Love youuuuuuuuuuuuu,
Mom

Susan,

Congratulations on the coming baby. We are very happy for you.

I'm not sure whether or not you have found Alice's blog. You can look at it by going to www.thinkingasawoman.blogspot.com.

Oh Susan...you are truly beautiful!!! And fret not....people would always ask me the same question starting at about 5 months!! I balloon right out...I can't imagine what I'd look like if I were to carry twins...lol!!! Oh delight in that big beautiful blessing of a belly, sister!! (How's that for an alliteration?!?).

Great big hugs to you and that special one that is currently being knit and to the rest of the gang!!

hi, thanks for your web page,I am from the UK and have been overwhelmed with fear caused by the supposed danger of childbirth in the grand multipara, I am 33 wks pregnant with baby number 5 and had a blood clot following my 4th pregnancy which has made this one a little more scary then you read all the stuff about problems delivering a 5th or more child, I am 32 years old. I thank you for your site as it is all so positive and has given me some confidence both in myself but in particularly on the Lord who has blessed me with this child, sometimes we let fear in and it totally takes over, I pray for a straightforward delivery this time so I can really enjoy this baby, any input oradvice would be a huge blessing, God bless you all, I love your bigfamily, it is a witness to us all.xx

Hi, Mairi

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm so glad the blog was an encouragement to you.

You should check this out if you want to read about an older mom who's a super grand multipara!

Yes, things can go wrong and they sometimes do--but if our Lord sees even little sparrows when they fall (Matthew 10:29), then He certainly sees us and will keep us safe if that is what's best.
